Painting a girl’s bedroom is a fun task, and the final result should reflect the girl’s personality. Ideally, it would be best if you allowed the girl to help choose the colours, design, and style that will be used to paint the room since it will be the one she has to stay in. Giving a girl’s room a fun look with paint does not have to be complicated or expensive, and there is no need to hire a professional painter to get the look you want; be sure you use good quality paint.
Stripes are a fun idea for a girl’s bedroom, and they’re not hard to do. You will need first to choose which two colors you would like to use for the wall, ideally a light color and a brighter or darker color. Color schemes that you may want to use pale orange and hot pink; sage green and vibrant pink; red and white; yellow and pale pink; lavender and ivory.
Paint the entire wall with a lighter color. Once the paint has dried, mark off 10-inch strips with painter’s tape. Paint in the taped-off sections using the brighter color. After this coat of paint has dried, remove the painter’s tape, and the walls will then have stripes.
To create tonal stripes, choose colors in the same shade. For example, pair hot pink with rose pink, purple with lavender, bright yellow and pale yellow, or deep orange with light orange.
Wall decals are a popular trend and work well for girls’ rooms since there are so many styles and designs to choose from. Flowers, cheerleading symbols, fashion icons, letters, and shapes are commonly used wall decals in girl’s rooms. Let your little girl choose the decal she likes best and then choose two colors that would work well with the girl’s decal.
Paint the entire wall the lighter of the two colors and then let the paint dry. Apply the wall decal and then take the second color of paint and highlight the curves and angles of the decals’ design with a small painter’s brush.
Painted dots work well in contemporary and modern girls’ rooms and can be done in any combination of colors. You can first paint the wall one solid color or use whatever wall color is already present in the room. Make a stencil of a circle the size you would like to paint on the walls. Use more than one size circle if you’d like. Plan how you want the dots arranged–space them evenly apart or place them randomly. With a pencil, go around the room and lightly draw where the final circles will be.
After plotting your dots, take whatever color of paint you would like and fill them in. Choose as few as one color or upward of 10 shades. Here are some color ideas if you’d like to paint dots on the walls of a girl’s room: primary blue, red, pink, purple, yellow, and green; mocha, pink, hot pink, and cream; hot pink, orange, yellow and rose pink; purple, lavender, sage green, and mocha; red, white, black and gray.
